Where Good Things Come From

Every product has a place, and every place has a story. Ours begins in India.

India: where it all begins

For thousands of years, India has been the heart of the world's spice trade. Its regions each have their own speciality, shaped by soil, climate and generations of know-how.

  • Kerala: black pepper, cardamom and cinnamon from the humid Malabar Coast.
  • Assam and Darjeeling: tea gardens producing some of the world's most celebrated black teas.
  • Kashmir: deep-red chillies prized for colour more than heat, and saffron grown at altitude.
  • Rajasthan and Gujarat: cumin, coriander and fenugreek grown under a dry desert sun.
  • Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh: turmeric and fiery chillies from the south.

We source close to these origins so you get the real thing, with its true flavour intact.

Beyond India

Where another origin genuinely does something better, such as Ceylon cinnamon and tea from Sri Lanka or fine Belgian couverture for our chocolate, we go there too. We'll always tell you where something comes from.
